I enjoyed every minute at the College of Charleston (and at its beaches) where I majored in English and minored in Fine Arts. Not knowing what else to do with a B.A. in English, I continued literary studies at the University of South Carolina, achieving a M.A. in American Literature while working part time as a secretary in the patent office at the Savannah River Site. I moved to Marietta after finding employment in office management for a Healthcare Management Services Organization. After a few years' experience, I returned to the halls of learning, this time to Agnes Scott College, earning a teaching certificate in their M.A.T. program. Mrs. Enzweiler took me in as a student teacher at Pope High School in 1997. Pope High School, in turn, hired me and I continued to teach lit, also earning an Ed.S. at Georgia State University, until my first son was born in 2004. I left teaching to stay home with my two sons (and a cat) until returning to teach, this time at Sprayberry High School, in 2014. I was thrilled to return to Pope Fall 2015. I look forward to finding out all about you, discussing books with you, and improving our writing together! --Mrs. Schneider
